Music At Kelvin West

Music is an important part of worship at Kelvin West Church. Our choir plays a central role in Sunday morning services, beginning each one with a choral introit, leading the congregation in hymn singing, and offering an anthem that reflects the theme of the service or the season of the Church calendar—from Advent and Christmas through Easter and Pentecost. The choir is made up of experienced volunteer singers alongside four choral scholars (SATB) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

A choir of men and women stands on wooden risers inside a historic building with large stained glass windows behind them, singing from open books.

Each week, the music ranges from early Tudor church compositions to works by great 18th–20th century composers, as well as newly written choral pieces. Annual highlights include joint services with the Glasgow University Chapel Choir and our special celebrations at Easter and Christmas, where the choir is often joined by additional singers. Through dedication and a shared love of music, the choir brings depth and beauty to our worship.
