Weekly at Kelvin West
Each week, many groups are available for you to join.
A Place to Create & Connect
The Coffee and Craft Group meets on Wednesdays, 10:30am-12:30pm in the Library at Kelvin West, (enter via door on Southpark Avenue.) There is no charge to come and we enjoy free tea, coffee, biscuits, and sometimes homemaking.
Folk usually bring their own crafting projects, and we help one another out, sometimes learning from each other and solving problems together. Mostly, we knit, crochet, sew and embroider, but would also welcome those who paint or draw or craft in some other way or who are just happy to enjoy the company and chat.
Twice a year some of the things we make are sold at a Coffee Morning and Craft Sale held in Kelvin West in aid of a chosen charity.
This is a very friendly and open group, where all are welcome. If you are interested just come along and check us out.
No Easy Answers, Just Honest Questions
The Questions of Faith group provides an opportunity to explore what we believe and why and how we relate our faith to our lives. Discussion usually focuses on a book but ranges widely as we share our stories and experiences, our doubts and our prejudices. It is a fairly small group, mostly from Kelvin West, with others from outside, and meets weekly throughout the year - with breaks for Christmas, Easter and part of the summer– currently in the University’s Clarice Pears building., from 10.30am till 12 noon, on Thursdays. New members are welcome - no qualifications (theological or other!) required.
Discovering Scripture, Week by Week
Seasonally, we lead a Bible Study Group, working each time from a chosen text over the course of a seven to eight week period. Occasionally we begin the study group with a screening of a related film here at Kelvin West Church. Thereafter the weekly study groups are convened via Zoom on Thursday evenings, starting at 7.30pm. Each study group is preceded at 7pm by a Prayer Group, also via Zoom.
For details of our current study series see LINK.
