Hall Lets Terms and Conditions

All who make use of, or who work within the Premises are required to comply with the undernoted Terms and Conditions and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of both of themselves and of other persons on the Premises.
Short Term Lets of the Church Premises will be granted to organisations which are non-profit making and whose aims are not incompatible with the mission of Kelvin West Church.  Thus this will specifically exclude any organisation involved with betting, gambling, alcohol, the sale of goods and party-political activities.

TERMS


• The proposed use, the length of the let and the cost will be as detailed in the Booking Agreement. 
• For long-term lets, there is an annual rent review each calendar year (September to August).  Special agreements on costs are also subject to an annual review.
• Following receipt of our Invoice, payment should be made to the Church Administrator by cheque or via BACS.  Cheques should be made out to: Kelvin West Church of Scotland.  BACS details will be set out on your Invoice.  Please reference your Invoice Number with your payment.  
• No entry charge shall be made unless agreed with the Church Administrator.
• No alcohol shall be consumed on the premises and games of chance are not permitted.
• No food or beverages shall be consumed in the sanctuary.
• Smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere in the building.
• Open fire (e.g. candles) is not permitted anywhere on the premises.

PREMISES


The Premises shall be accepted by the lessee as being in good condition and repair and agree to leave the Premises in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the let.  Please also remember to close any windows and switch off the lights at the end of the use. The lessee shall make good any damage caused to the Premises through their use.

ALTERATIONS


The lessee shall not make any alterations to the Premises and shall not use any additional electrical equipment without the consent of the Church Administrator.

INSURANCE


The lessee shall be responsible for providing adequate insurance cover for themselves, those associated with them and for any property and equipment they bring into the Premises.  If required, the lessee shall exhibit the relevant policies and premium receipts.  Without prejudice hereto and to the other conditions herein the lessee shall also be responsible for providing adequate Public Liability Insurance in respect of their use of the Premises.

CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND PROTECTED ADULTS


The lessee, if working with children and young people under the age of 16, or with protected adults, is required to be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme as laid down by the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.  Confirmation of compliance may be requested.


INDEMNITY


Kelvin West Church shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage or claim by any party of any kind, including claims in respect of any deficiency in respect of the Premises arising out of the let and the lessee shall indemnify Kelvin West Church against any loss, damage or claim.
